The Youth Ag Summit 2015

The Youth Ag Summit 2015, which took place in Canberra, Australia, was organized jointly with youth ag-organization, Futures Farmers Network, and brought 100 young bright minds from 33 countries together to work on joint solutions on global food challenges.

During the week-long event, delegates listened to inspirational keynotes, went on field trips, dove into the local culture and worked on two concise outcomes during break-out sessions: The Canberra Youth Ag-Declaration and their individual “Three Little Things” commitments to working towards food security at home. The Declaration showcased how young people can help achieve the UN’s 2030 Sustainable Development goal to end hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote sustainable agriculture. The Declaration was presented to the UN Committee on Food Security by two YAS delegates in October 2015.
